DoorwaysDoorways are used with many sites and is where a first page is provided at the web address, and then when you enter the site it goes to another place. In many cases this is done for commercial reasons, for example an online shopping group may have a special web address for each shopping portal, but have them all actually on the same server allowing them to collect all commissions in one place. It is possible to make the browser appear to be on a different site, but we do not do that. In our case the provision of doorways as either sub sites or pages within our sites allows the use of the ewitch.org, ewitches.org and book-of-shadows.org.uk addresses, and a single welcome page, where upon entering the site the user is transferred to a web site of your choice. Most often a site provided for them by their ISP as a part of their user package, or free site such as those provided by AOL hometown. As within your site you can at any point pass the flow from one of these sites to another, a group may find this a good way in that several members can maintain different parts of the system, which while distributed appears to the user to be a single system. In order to use a doorway you should first develop your basic site, at whatever site you are using, and then when you have this working contact us at doorway-enq @ e-witch.org giving details of you, your group, site address, if you require email forwarding, and the preferred address you would like to use, and we will take a quick look and get back to you promptly. In many cases we will have set up the doorway and will be informing you of this and how to make the most of the services we can provide.
